Research question: Why does all the blame for our failing public school system tend to fall on teachers in public discourse? What are some of the other important factors besides teachers that influence how academically successful a student is?

The information I'm looking for in my interview is how communication between parents and teachers are, and how this affects and shapes the opinions of the public when they talk about teachers and education. I also want to find out if parents fully recognize the some of the outside factors that influence their child's performance in school. I want to ask questions like, How is your child's current school performance? What do think about your child's current teacher and his/her teachers in previous grades? How is your communication with your child's teachers? How do you think your child's teachers can improve? What things outside of school do you notice that affect your child's grades?
